| Frequently Asked Questions - Catholic Schools
"That men may appreciate wisdom and discipline, may understand words of intelligence; May receive training in wise conduct, in what is right, just and honest;"
Proverbs 1:2-3
Q: Is there a school associated with The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish?
A: Yes. The parish is blessed to have a pre-school and an elementary school (Kindergarten - 3rd grade) associated with the parish. For more information about St. Mary Cathedral Elementary School, please see their web site. For additional information pertaining to the history of the school and the role of education in the parish's history, please see the pages on this site: St. Mary's School and The Convent, The Sisters of Providence, and Education.
Q: What if I have children who are in grades higher than the 3rd grade and want to send them to Catholic schools?
A: The cities of Lafayette and West Lafayette are also blessed to be served by the Lafayette Catholic School System (LCSS), which is comprised of four area schools: St. Mary Cathedral Elementary School (pre-school and Kindergarten - 3rd grade), St. Boniface School (4th - 6th grade), St. Lawrence School (pre-school and Kindergarten - 6th grade), and Central Catholic Junior / Senior High School (7th - 12th grade).
Students enrolled at St. Mary typically continue their Catholic education by attending St. Boniface School (which is located just a few blocks away from the Cathedral) after their 3rd grade year. All of the area Catholic elementary school students, beyond 6th grade, continue their education and spiritual growth at Central Catholic Junior / Senior High School.
For more information concerning registration, please go to the school's web site by clicking on the name in the above paragraph and use the school's contact information.
