Q:  My spouse, who is not Catholic, wishes to covert to Catholicism?  What steps should we take?

A:  Assuming your spouse has been attending Mass with you, he or she may want to meet with one of our priests or call the parish office for the name and phone number of our RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) Director.  She will be happy to speak with them and begin the conversion process.  Please contact the Director of Religious Education for more information.

Q:  What if I have already been baptized in another faith, can I still become a Catholic?

A:  Yes.  All individuals, regardless of whether they have been baptized or not in another faith and are truly committed to seeking communion in the Catholic faith are eligible to seek conversion.  In cases where individuals have already been baptized in a recognized Christian faith, proof of that baptism will be required as the Catholic faith believes in one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins.  Thus, for those who have been baptized in a Christian faith, the need for additional baptism does not exist.  Those who have not been baptized will, as part of their initiation into the Catholic faith, be baptized.
